FAQ

How am I billed? Prepaid. You top up a wallet; running VMs, disks, snapshots, public IPv4 addresses and internet egress above your allowance are charged from it by the hour. See Prepaid billing.

Which currency? Prices are in US dollars. You pay in your own currency (KES with M-Pesa) at the day’s published rate, shown before you pay.

Do stopped VMs cost money? The VM itself doesn’t. Its disks and any public IPv4 address do, until you delete them.

What happens if my balance runs out? You get emails at 72 and 24 hours of runway left. At zero, running VMs are stopped (not deleted). Only after 14 days below zero are resources deleted. See When money runs low.

Is there a free tier or promotional credit? There is no free tier. TebibHost sometimes grants promotional credit; it shows in your balance and is used before your wallet.

Do I get an invoice? You get a monthly statement and a receipt for every top-up, both as PDFs. Prices exclude taxes; tax invoices are not available during the preview.

Can I get a refund? Ask TebibHost; refunds of unused balance are handled by staff during the preview.

Why can I only run 2 VMs? New organizations start on the new tier. Your first top-up raises it to 10 VMs, ID verification to 25. See Quotas and tiers.

Can I send email from my VM? Not directly on port 25: outbound SMTP is blocked for everyone. Use a mail relay or a sending service on port 587 or 465.

Does my VM get a public IP? It gets a public IPv6 address, free. A public IPv4 address is optional and billed; see Public IPs.

Why can’t I reach my VM? New VMs deny all inbound traffic. Add a rule to its security group, for example TCP 22 from your address.

Can my projects talk to each other? Not over private addresses: each project’s network is isolated. They can over public IPv6 if both sides’ security groups allow it.

Can my team share one login? Don’t: invite each person so they have their own sign-in, MFA and audit trail. See Users, groups and invitations.

I lost my phone with the authenticator app. Sign in with a recovery code or a passkey, then set up the app again. Without either, contact TebibHost to verify your identity.

Which regions are there? One preview region today, with Nairobi coming at the public beta. See Regions.
